The Couple

Ivette and David wanted a destination Moab wedding full of adventure, fun, and natural beauty.  For a spring wedding, it doesn’t get much better than Moab, Utah. The weather is close to perfect, and there are endless opportunities for outdoor adventures.

From the very first time we spoke with Ivette and David, their vision was clear.  They wanted to have a kickass weekend full of adventure and fun, surrounded by their closest friends and family.  Ivette and David decided on Moab, Utah as their wedding destination without even have first visited the state of Utah.  Yes, you heard that right.  If that alone isn’t the epitome of adventurous, I don’t know what is.

The Moab Wedding

Ivette and David gave us full creative control to coordinate and design their special Moab wedding.  The only requirement?  It had to be epic.  And boy, was it ever.  Our owner here at Stonewood, Shiara, is a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie.  She’s always up for skydiving, bungee jumping, or booking a last minute trip across the world.  So, needless to say, we were up for the challenge.

Ivette and David wanted the weekend to be something their guests wouldn’t expect.  The majority of Ivette and David’s family and friends would be traveling from Miami, Florida.  They wanted their guests to have the opportunity to try new things and step out of their comfort zone.  To name just a few of the weekend activities: canyon rappelling, canyoneering, 4×4 tours, hiking, and a wedding ceremony requiring an off-road Jeep tour.

The Big Day

On their big day, Ivette and David wanted to literally get married in the middle of nowhere.  So, we had previously scouted out a place off the grid and made it happen.  We rented a caravan of jeeps.  And on the morning of the big day, loaded up all of their guests and wedding party into jeeps.  Stonewood lead the caravan of about 15 jeeps onto an off-road tour.  At an open and desolate location that we had previously discovered, we piled all the guests out of jeeps and set-up a wedding ceremony that was casual, but yet unmatched.  As the last jeep arrived, Ivette made her entrance on top of a hill.  And like straight out of Hollywood movie, walked down to meet her groom and get married with the most epic desert view behind them.
