The Love Story

We strongly believe that things happen for a reason.   Vanessa and Sean’s Beaver Creek Wedding was the true epitome of this belief.  Vanessa first told me over the phone about her relationship and love for Sean.  It brought tears to my eyes. While discussing the vision for their big day, attention to detail and their “love story” was the main focus.

At Stonewood, our key phrase that we love to use over and over is “What story do you want to tell.” We immediately were incredibly invested in Vanessa and Sean’s love story.  We wanted to make sure Vanessa and Sean’s story would be portrayed on their Colorado wedding day in the Rocky Mountains.

Sean and Vanessa met in college.  The duration of their relationship was long distance.  But it was during this time-frame, that their “love story” blossomed and was written.  They communicated often with love letters.  They did everything in their power to shorten the long distance between them.

Beaver Creek Wedding

We designed Vanessa and Sean’s Colorado Wedding with this love story in mind.  We used actual quotes from the love letters written between them as the focus of their invitation suite.  A custom “Found Poem” was used to tell the story of their love.  Inspired by vintage touches, we wanted to incorporate a modern feel with the mountain elegance of the Colorado Rocky Mountains included.

The Park Hyatt Beaver Creek served as the perfect venue for their special day- set up with a mountainous backdrop and beautiful event spaces.  Modern linens were decorated with natural and elegant florals from 3 Leaf Floral. The day captured by Cat Mayer Studio and Jami Davis Films.
